Porto Santo was the first of the islands of Madeira Archipelago to be discovered by the portuguese navigators. Its name comes from becoming a safe harbour before a huge storm. The island is small and can be visited in just one day. But the beach, supposedly therapeutical, is its main attration and invites for a lot more time of rest and relaxation.
